But expert witnesses are not expert lawyers, and they are not expert cross-examiners. Lawyer attendees of Evidence at Trial’s Expert Witness Academy will learn how to turn their expertise in cross-examination into an advantage even when examining a witness with a superior subject matter expertise. Seasoned expert witness attendees will get an inside look as to the strategies and techniques lawyers can use to debunk their opinions (and how to best prepare for the anticipated attack). All attendees will learn the foundational principles of expert witness testimony, the use and strategy of hypothetical questions, Daubert rules, impeachment strategies, preparing your own expert witness (and related discovery rules), and preparing for the cross-examination of adverse expert (including both deposition and trial strategies).
